The wind is shifting, folks! It’s hard not to notice changes in the real estate market. Interest rates are on the rise, with another hike predicted.
We have all seen and heard the tales of homes going $300k over asking with 40 offers. So, in theory, rising interest rates have done their job of helping the real estate market stabilize. We are now seeing more inventory, price stabilization, and more days on the market. These are all good things, and moving towards a healthy housing market with steady home valuation – we need that!
Now is an excellent opportunity to buy. Why? More inventory to choose from, less competition, and you can refinance at a later date for a lower rate. Refinancing is always an option, but buying at a lower price without as much competition may not be an option for long. Once we hit four months of inventory, interest rates will taper off. Once that happens, buyers will be all over the market again, causing inventory to become scarce once again.
