Young Gen Z homebuyers are using social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to find real estate agents to work with and homes to purchase, making having a solid digital brand more important than ever.
A recent article from Later.com discovered the following statistics:
- 80% of Gen Zers spend time on YouTube
- 75% of Gen Zers spend time on Instagram,
- Around 60% of Gen Zers spend time on TikTok
- 35% of all Gen Zers spend 4+ hours each day on social media (compared to 19% of U.S. adults)
Social media isn’t going anywhere, so you might as well bite the bullet and get social! Here are a few tips to ensure your digital brand and online presence are ready for the new (digital) wave of home buyers.
Update Your Profiles & Bios
Updated profiles and bios will make finding you more accessible for potential buyers. Including the following information is a good place to start:
- Your name and the fact that you’re a Realtor®
- Your market areas/places you do business in
- Links to your website and other social media profiles
In addition, it’s important to ensure that your profiles and bios are consistent across platforms. This will help you promote your brand and ensure that you have all the important information in your profiles. Updating your profile photo and cover photos with your most recent headshot and team picture or logo is also important.
Consistent Posting
If homebuyers are coming to your social media pages to see who you are and what you’re about, you want to give them what they’re looking for and make a good impression! Showcasing your newest listings and sold properties shows how successful you are, but you also want to be authentic and post about things they can relate to, including hobbies, family time, favorite coffee shops, and more. Not only does this show there’s a human behind the brand, but it also allows you to talk about the communities you sell in and shows you’re a community expert.
Get Creative!
Social media allows you to think outside the box and get creative to separate yourself from the competition. Have an open house coming up this weekend? Decorate the home with a theme and go live on social media to show off the home! Want people to learn more about the communities you’re selling in? Post about your favorite happy hour spots or places to get dinner! The possibilities are endless, and the more you post about things outside of real estate, the more you will stick out in potential buyers’ minds.
Embracing social media and using it to its fullest potential will go a long way in capturing leads. Have questions about what Agent Operations can do for you?
